Specification Sales Manager - Scotland at Helvar

You will be an experienced, active and truly customer-focused seller. Embracing Helvar's approach to sales management you will report and build pipeline through our CRM systems. As a natural people person and passionate about selling, you will be out with customers 80% of the time.

Reporting to the Head of UK Sales, your main goal is to promote and sell Helvar’s complete product and service offering in the Scotland and North East England through building and upholding close relations with key stakeholders at all levels and stages of the Sales process, input info about your project progression in Helvar’s CRM systems on a regular basis. You are committed to achieve set targets and enjoy exceeding them.

What will your days look like: 

  • Primarily identify and build relationships with Light Designers and M&E Consultants relevant to Helvar
  • Identify and build relationships with electrical contractors, wholesalers, lighting designers, investors, contractors and tenants
  • Actively seek new projects and identify key decisions makers with the goal of increasing sales within the Scotland & N.E. area
  • Develop and build lighting management activities in major building projects
  • Embrace modern sales techniques, submitting all information into our CRM system with project logs, call planning, key visit notes and quotations
  • Advocate Helvar’s Lighting Intelligence solutions in a consultative manner
  • Achieve agreed individual sales and profitability targets
  • Identify and engage with M&E consultants to build resilient specifications pipeline
  • Promote Helvar Lighting Intelligence solutions using consultative selling techniques
  • Engage directly with key influencers and business decisions makers to maximise chances of success
  • Track projects from specification to order, through all stages, with each stakeholder
  • Timely communication with clients / representatives to ensure the smooth and profitable execution of lighting control projects
  • Work with all project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration with any third-party services
  • Attend industry exhibitions as required, both in the UK and overseas
  • Plan and conduct CPD accredited seminars with the support of the Marketing team supported by marketing

What skills would be great in this role: 

  • Proven experience and understanding of modern sales processes with a commercial understanding of tools, margins and credit risk
  •  Good Sales experience with a focus on technological fields such as lighting controls, lighting, HVAC, building management or automation industry
  • Demonstrate excellent sales and commercial experience where you have met or exceeded demanding sales targets
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills that builds collaboration
  • Self-sufficient with initiative and drive, able to prioritize and take actions
  • Confident and effective communicator, handles questions adeptly with influencing skills
  • Ability to effectively present and influence individuals and groups at all levels
  • Ability to translate and communicate key business priorities to support the development and execution of tactical sales programs and activities
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and value, internally and externally
  • Flexible and agile, ability to adapt your approach and methods to maximise results
  • Based in Scotland for relevant travel in the region, and international travel when required
  • Spoken and written fluency in English; an additional European language is desirable but is not essential
  • An understanding or background in lighting controls would be beneficial but is not essential

  • 5+ years of experience as a cloud architect or similar role in cloud development 
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms, especially in AWS. Expertise in Azure and Google Cloud is considered a plus. 
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, security and storage. 
  • Expertise in edge computing and IoT security frameworks. 
  • Understanding of IoT device management, data processing and real-time analytics in the cloud. 
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.  
  • Familiar with cloud native technologies i.e. serverless, microservices  
  • Hands-on experience with cloud development, security, compliancy and governance. 
  • Hands-on expertise with IoT platforms and protocols such as MQTT  
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud systems. 
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

 Education and certifications 

  • Degree in computer science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.

Due to an Internal Promotion here at Helvar, we are now looking for an enthusiastic Service Sales / Internal Sales Specialist to join our fantastic team of sales professionals within our Direct Sales team in the UK.   An ideal candidate would perhaps come from a Sales / Recruitment / Account Management background with a consultative / value added mindset and approach to selling. 

Main purpose of your job: 

Help the company to fulfill its strategy by supporting the evolution towards a more customer and lifetime service orientation, and by growing a sustainable service business. 

Find and contact new customers (prospects) for digital services and service contracts to start new sales cycles. Improve overall customer experience and encourage them to buy more services by executing processes and tasks that keep new and existing customers satisfied throughout the solution life cycle.

Maintain relationships with existing key customers to uncover improvement opportunities that benefit both them and us to increase overall Customer Lifetime Value (CLV). 

Act as a link between new business opportunities (leads) and our field Sales Managers to grow the business.

What you'll be doing as our Service Sales Specialist: 

  • Selling our digital service solutions (Helvar Insights) primarily to real estate owners, facilities management and tenants  
  • Creating new service contracts to new customers, and renewing contracts for existing customers (both digital services and technical maintenance contracts) 
  • Understanding service customer needs and requirements (owner, FM, tenant, local service partners, VAR Partners etc)  
  • Creating new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound calls and emails 
  • Manging existing service contract satisfaction and renewals to ensure a low attrition rate of customers not renewing their contracts
  • Map Helvar’s install base of customers through CRM, desk based researched and outbound calls and emails
  • Converting Marketing Qualified Leads (MQL) to Sales Qualified Leads (SQL) 
  • Performing effective online demos to prospects and existing customers 
  • Closing new service sales opportunities to achieve revenue and contract targets 
  • Performing After Market Service (AMS) processes to ensure customer satisfaction 
  • Using CRM (Salesforce.com) efficiently and enthusiastically  
  • Telephone and email account managing a portfolio of customers

What skills we'd like you to have: 

  • Understanding of digital, data-driven service solutions 
  • Service sales experience & mindset (example SaaS, AMS) 
  • Customer-centric attitude 
  • Comfortable and familiar with telephone based B2B selling.
  • Highly communicative, engaging and able to build rapport remotely.
  • Experience of previous successful Business-to-Business (B2B) sales 
  • Commercial education preferred over a technical background

This role involves designing, implementing, and executing test plans, identifying potential risks, and automating test processes to support a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline in a cloud environment. 

You will be working in product development projects by designing and executing test cases for solutions made of a combination of hardware and software products. In doing so you will be contributing towards the improvement of testing capabilities and increase the automatization level throughout the test pyramid at Helvar. You have an interest in test automation and controlled embedded systems. You understand both software and electronics and are comfortable with electrical measurement devices. 

You will accomplish this by working closely with the development team including HW engineers, SW engineers, product managers and UX designers. In this role you will have the opportunity to enhance and grow the testing culture and processes, as well as participating in system testing and customer pilot projects. 

 What you'll be doing as our Cloud Test Specialist: 

  • Design and implement test plans: Create and execute comprehensive test plans for cloud-based applications and services, covering functional, performance, security, and scalability testing aligned to business requirements and development epics. 
  • Cloud environment testing: Conduct testing in AWS cloud environments ensuring compatibility, performance, and security compliance. 
  • Automation and CI/CD integration: Develop and maintain automated test scripts and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid and reliable delivery of cloud solutions. 
  • System testing: Contributing to the overall verification and validation of the system, and identification of gaps including documentation. Understanding system level behaviour and ensuring this is fully verified and documented. 
  • Performance testing: Measure system performance and scalability under different workloads, optimizing cloud applications for resource efficiency and cost. 
  • Collaboration with development teams: Work closely with development, product management, and technical support teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects or issues early in the development lifecycle. 
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor cloud environments during testing, document results, and generate reports that highlight areas for improvement, including recommendations for performance or security enhancements. Reporting test progress to the Product Owner and the Project Manager. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement best practices, tools, and processes for cloud testing, keeping up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing and quality assurance. Be a contributor to the quality of Helvar products and processes. 

Skills that would be great for the cloud test specialist role at Helvar: 

  • Experience with cloud solutions: Significant experience in testing cloud-based systems and applications, with a practical knowledge of end-to-end testing preferably AWS 
  • Experience in planning and execution: Experience of planning and executing tests from business requirements and epic definition. Experience of defining system test approaches incorporating software and hardware. 
  • Testing frameworks and tools: Experience of test automation frameworks such as Pytest and Cypress to build and automate test cases. 
  • Testing management: Experience of working with test management software such as Xray for Jira. 
  • Agile methodologies: Significant hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence for tracking issues and working collaboratively in teams. 
  • Analytical mindset: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to analyse test results to recommend corrective actions. 

Nice to have 

  • CI/CD tools: Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab integrating automated tests into the deployment pipeline. 
  • Security testing: Knowledge of security testing practices, including penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and cloud security best practices. 
  • Networking: Knowledge of Bluetooth, Zigbee, DALI or other relevant standards

What will your days look like: 

  • Primarily identify and building relationships with Light Designers and M&E Consultants relevant to Helvar
  • Identify and build relationships with electrical contractors, wholesalers, lighting designers, investors, contractors and tenants
  • Actively seek new projects and identify key decisions makers with the goal of increasing sales within the Midlands area
  • Develop and build lighting management activities in major Midlands building projects
  • Embrace modern sales techniques, submitting all information into our CRM system with project logs, call planning, key visit notes and quotations
  • Advocate Helvar’s Lighting Intelligence solutions in a consultative manner
  • Achieve agreed individual sales and profitability targets
  • Identify and engage with M&E consultants to build resilient specifications pipeline
  • Promote Helvar Lighting Intelligence solutions using consultative selling techniques
  • Engage directly with key influencers and business decisions makers to maximise chances of success
  • Track projects from specification to order, through all stages, with each stakeholder
  • Timely communication with clients / representatives to ensure the smooth and profitable execution of lighting control projects
  • Work with all project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration with any third party services
  • Attend industry exhibitions as required, both in the UK and overseas
  • Plan and conduct CPD accredited seminars with the support of the Marketing team supported by marketing

What skills would be great in this role: 

  • Proven experience and understanding of modern sales processes with a commercial understanding of tools, margins and credit risk
  •  Good Sales experience with a focus on technological fields such as lighting controls, lighting, HVAC, building management or automation industry
  • Demonstrate excellent sales and commercial experience where you have met or exceeded demanding sales targets
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills that builds collaboration
  • Self-sufficient with initiative and drive, able to prioritize and take actions
  • Confident and effective communicator, handles questions adeptly with influencing skills
  • Ability to effectively present and influence individuals and groups at all levels
  • Ability to translate and communicate key business priorities to support the development and execution of tactical sales programs and activities
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and value, internally and externally

  • Engage directly with key influencers and business decisions makers to maximise chances of success
  • Track projects from specification to order, through all stages, with each stakeholder

  • Attend industry exhibitions as required, both in the UK and overseas
  • Plan and conduct CPD accredited seminars with the support of the Marketing team supported by marketing

What skills would be great in this role: 

  • Proven experience and understanding of modern sales processes with a commercial understanding of tools, margins and credit risk
  •  Good Sales experience with a focus on technological fields such as lighting controls, lighting, HVAC, building management or automation industry
  • Demonstrate excellent sales and commercial experience where you have met or exceeded demanding sales targets
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills that builds collaboration
  • Self-sufficient with initiative and drive, able to prioritize and take actions
  • Confident and effective communicator, handles questions adeptly with influencing skills
  • Ability to effectively present and influence individuals and groups at all levels
  • Ability to translate and communicate key business priorities to support the development and execution of tactical sales programs and activities
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and value, internally and externally

  • Based in North West for relevant travel in those regions, and international travel when required

The main focus  of the role will be to sell Helvar's different lighting control solutions within the London and South regions of the UK. You will visit existing customers and build a personal relationships, as well as proactively seeking new projects. You will ensure a simple and well-planned sales process with focus on the customer.  Through networking and contacts, you will drive sales through attracting new customer groups and identifying unprocessed market, such as real estate owners.

A Senior / Lead Specification Sales Manager at Helvar: 

You will be an experienced, active and truly customer-focused seller. Embracing Helvar's approach to sales, management you will report and build pipeline through our CRM systems. As a natural people person and passionate about selling, you will be out with customers 80% of the time.

Reporting to the Head of UK Sales, your main goal is to promote and sell Helvar’s complete product and service offering in the London and the South through building and upholding close relations with key stakeholders at all levels and stages of the Sales process, input info about your project progression in Helvar’s CRM systems on a regular basis. You are committed to achieve set targets, and enjoy exceeding them.

What will your days look like: 

  • Primarily identify and building relationships with Light Designers and Consultants relevant to Helvar
  • Identify and build relationships with electricity contractors, wholesalers, lighting designers, investors, contractors and tenants
  • Actively seek new projects and identify key decisions makers with the goal of increasing sales within the London area
  • Develop and build lighting management activities in major London residential and building projects
  • Embrace modern sales techniques, submitting all information into our CRM system with project logs, call planning, key visit notes and quotations
  • Advocate Helvar’s Lighting Intelligence solutions in a consultative manner
  • Achieve agreed individual sales and profitability targets
  • Identify and engage with M&E consultants to build resilient specifications pipeline
  • Promote Helvar Lighting Intelligence solutions using consultative selling techniques
